Mexico Opens Oct. 19–25 In‑Person Registration for Two Bienestar Pensions

The weeklong drive will enroll eligible adults into two bimonthly cash-transfer programs and may require schedule shifts next year because of electoral rules.

Overview

  • The Secretaría de Bienestar launched in-person registration from October 19 through October 25 so people can join the Pensión para el Bienestar de las Personas Adultas Mayores (65+) and the Pensión Mujeres Bienestar (women 60–64).
  • Applicants must attend free Módulos de Bienestar with official ID, a recent CURP printout, birth certificate, proof of address no older than six months, and phone contact information to complete registration.
  • The enrollment calendar assigns dates by the first letter of the applicant’s first surname with Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 open to all letters and weekend slots available for those who missed their weekday date.
  • Home visits can be requested for people with mobility or health barriers and applicants may designate a registered 'persona auxiliar' to help with filings and collection procedures.
  • The programs pay bimonthly: 6,400 pesos for Adultos Mayores and 3,100 pesos for Mujeres Bienestar, and the one‑time Pago de Marcha after a beneficiary’s death pays 3,200 pesos (Adultos Mayores), 1,650 pesos (disability) or 1,550 pesos (Mujeres) if claimed by the registered auxiliary within two bimesters.
