Overview

  • President Claudia Sheinbaum and Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla inaugurated the community hospital in Maruata, in the municipality of Aquila, on the Michoacán coast.
  • The hospital has 56 beds and 15 consultation rooms, along with operating theaters, emergency services, X‑ray, a laboratory, and a pharmacy reported to be stocked above 95%.
  • Eleven Cuban specialist doctors will attend patients as part of the clinical staff.
  • Staffing also includes 55 nurses, three radiologists, two dentists, and specialists in surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, geriatrics, traumatology, anesthesiology, immunology, family medicine, and internal medicine.
