Mexico Opens 30,000 Places in National AI Training Program

The expansion aims to speed up the supply of industry-ready tech talent by pairing free five-month online courses with live tutoring and direct links to hiring firms.

Overview

  • The Centro Público de Formación en Inteligencia Artificial launched a second national call on May 26 to offer 30,000 free, fully online five-month training slots for adults aged 18 and over.
  • Registration runs from May 26 to July 5, 2026 through the official portal mexia.gob.mx and applicants can get help via the 079 line or aspirantes.ia@transformaciondigital.gob.mx.
  • The curriculum covers five strategic areas—artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud, data analysis, and networks and infrastructure—and includes live tutor sessions, English for IT and a logic-mathematics propedeutic course.
  • Leading tech firms including Google, Microsoft, AWS, Meta, NVIDIA, IBM, Cisco, Oracle, Accenture and others will deliver content and offer post-course recruitment or job linkage for successful graduates.
  • The call scales the program from a January pilot of about 10,000 students to a much larger effort to close national skills gaps and increase employability in high-demand digital roles.
