Mexico Launches Verifiable Digital Professional Record to Check Credentials

Built on national and international standards, the tool replaces paper-based verification.

Overview

  • The Education Ministry, through the Directorate General of Professions, rolled out the Constancia de Situación Profesional (CSP) as a free public record at cedulaprofesional.sep.gob.mx/cedula-profesional/certificaciones.
  • Early use surpassed 800,000 downloads and about two million consultations in under a month, according to official figures.
  • The CSP consolidates a professional’s cédula, colegiación, certificates, microcredentials and transversal competencies for secure validation.
  • Officials describe the record as a verifiable digital CV intended to improve employability, support educational mobility and facilitate access to scholarships.
  • The agency notes more than 15 million cédulas recorded over 80 years, reports 800,000 certifications registered to date and projects roughly 15 million additional certifications with partners in education, certification and industry.
