The program pairs free hybrid courses with dual public–private certifications to build a pipeline of AI talent backed by new industry training commitments.

Overview

  • Applications are open from November 6 to December 6 at labmexia.gob.mx for a five‑month course running January to June 2026, with a larger second intake planned for late 2026.
  • Training will run in person across 10 TecNM campuses in CDMX, Mérida, Tijuana, Morelos, Veracruz, Puebla, Morelia, Oaxaca, Tamaulipas and Nayarit, and online via SaberesMx at no cost.
  • The curriculum covers artificial intelligence, data analysis, cloud, Java and cybersecurity, with mentoring, job‑readiness workshops and conversational English leading to both public and tech‑company certifications.
  • Officials set a goal of graduating about 25,000 people per year and outlined a TecNM Master’s in Artificial Intelligence slated to begin in 2026 across 28 institutes.
  • Companies including IBM and Kyndryl announced training support, while experts and analysts warned that equitable access and stronger AI governance will be essential as adoption expands.
