Mexico Launches First Fully Online Auction of Seized Crime Assets

Bidding is open through August 6 for 145,429 movable goods, 218 real estate listings seized from organized crime, with all proceeds destined for health infrastructure.

Overview

  • The auction runs July 25 to August 6 and offers 218 properties alongside 145,429 movable goods for competitive bidding.
  • Participation is open to individuals and legal entities that register on the INDEP portal, upload required identification and fiscal documents, and post a refundable guarantee deposit.
  • More than 7,000 bidders have been accredited and another 6,400 applications remain in verification as of July 26.
  • All assets originate from seizures by customs, the SAT and the Fiscalía General de la República through judicial processes, embargoes and abandonments.
  • Sales revenue will be disclosed on August 7 and directed to strengthen health centers and hospitals in Mexico’s most underserved municipalities.
