Mexico Launches 2025 ‘Mes del Testamento’ With State-Specific Fees and Extended Windows

Officials frame the push as a way to expand access to wills to curb family conflicts.

  • Chiapas extended its program to December 9 under “Cien Días de Testamento Humanista,” pricing universal wills at 1,000 pesos plus VAT for the public and 700 pesos plus VAT for seniors, with all state notaries participating.
  • Michoacán scheduled its promotion from September 1 to October 31 at a flat 3,000 pesos that includes honoraria and the testament notice, available across 203 notarías.
  • General requirements commonly include being of legal age, presenting official ID, CURP, birth certificate and proof of address, and attending in person, with details and participating offices available via state notary directories and Segob or notarial channels.
