Mexico Installs 678 Centros LIBRE, Reports 99,032 Women Served in First Months

Early results show most assistance delivered on site through an integrated model combining violence response with autonomy building.

Overview

  • From May 1 to August 15, the centers provided 173,882 services to women nationwide, with 98% of attentions delivered at the facilities.
  • Forty percent of services addressed violence through legal advice, psychological care and social work under a coordinated triage model.
  • About one in five women who sought help during the period reported experiencing some form of aggression.
  • Sixty percent of services focused on strengthening autonomy, including economic independence through training, recreational activities and community networks.
  • The network was installed across all 32 states with investment exceeding 651 million pesos, and the administration has directed expansion to at least one center per municipality by the end of the term.
