Overview

  • Monsoon flow interacting with Tropical Wave #9 and low-pressure channels is triggering heavy to very heavy rains with thunderstorms and possible hail across 26 Mexican states, notably in Durango, Sinaloa, Nayarit and southern regions.
  • A violet heat alert remains in effect for northeast Baja California and central Sonora, where temperatures could reach 45 °C, and 40 °C highs extend into parts of Chihuahua, Sinaloa and the Yucatán Peninsula.
  • Spain’s AEMET forecasts clear, dry skies in Silleda with a maximum of 28 °C and similarly sunny conditions in nearby locales.
  • The SMN has issued a violet dense fog alert for Buenos Aires, Greater Buenos Aires, La Pampa, Córdoba, Santa Fe and Entre Ríos, warning of significant visibility reductions on July 8.
  • Córdoba province will see drizzle and light rain through Friday under stable temperatures, and Buenos Aires is projected to run about 4 °C above normal with lows above 10 °C and highs up to 22 °C through mid-July.
