Overview
- Security officials say the operation was carried out by the Navy, Army, Public Security Ministry, National Guard and federal prosecutors as part of a coordinated push in Sinaloa.
- Patrolling units detected suspicious vehicles in the two communities and made the arrest in separate actions reported by the federal security cabinet.
- Seized items included three long guns, 1,770 cartridges, 37 magazines, packages of marijuana and cocaine, and four improvised-armored pickup trucks.
- Authorities also recovered 42 improvised explosive devices, two radios, six ballistic-plate vests, four helmets, tactical clothing and a vehicle painted to resemble a federal unit.
