The two-year, 8 billion-peso plan pledges free care with strict timelines to speed diagnosis and treatment.

  • Oaxaca said its Ve’e Tata mobile caravans, which have provided more than 12,000 free mammograms, will channel cases into the new national pathway for diagnosis and treatment.
  • The first Women’s Oncology Care Center will open in December at the former Hospital La Pastora in Mexico City.
  • Federally, the model calls for acquiring 1,000 mammography machines and 1,000 ultrasounds in 2026–2027 and establishing 20 regional diagnostic hubs and 32 state hospital units.
  • Health leaders set targets of diagnosis within 30 days of suspicion and treatment beginning within 21 days, with funding reported as a 50/50 split between IMSS and the federal government including IMSS-Bienestar and ISSSTE.
