Mexico Details New Blows to Meth Networks, Including 1-Ton Seizure in Sonora

  • Guardia Nacional officers intercepted a commercial truck in San Luis Río Colorado carrying about 1,000 kilos of methamphetamine and roughly 15 kilos of fentanyl, detaining the driver and a passenger for referral to prosecutors.
  • Army personnel in Querétaro disabled a clandestine meth lab in Los Trigos and El Marqués, securing 1,790 liters and 528 kilos of chemical substances plus reactors and condensers, with an estimated impact of 1,203 million pesos.
  • In Sinaloa, troops identified nine concentration areas for meth inputs in Culiacán and Cosalá, seizing 6,990 liters of chemicals along with firearms, magazines, cartridges and additional drug material.
  • Additional actions included a K9-assisted parcel seizure in Córdoba, Veracruz, four arrests with firearms in Monterrey, Nuevo León, the incineration of 899 kilos of cocaine in Acapulco, Guerrero, and fuel-theft seizures in Querétaro involving diesel, nafta and MTBE.
