Overview

  • On August 25, authorities secured and razed storage areas in El Sauz and El Llano de la Palma in Culiacán and La Cañada in Mocorito.
  • Seized stockpiles included 3,600 liters of benzyl, 1,250 liters of ethyl alcohol, 900 liters of ammonium acetate, 375 kilograms of caustic soda, and 300 kilograms of sodium cyanide.
  • The raids were carried out under the “Búsqueda, Localización y Destrucción de Laboratorios Clandestinos” strategy with participation from the Army, National Guard, Navy, FGR, state prosecutors, SSPC, and state police.
  • All materials were reported to the federal prosecutor and destroyed by specialists, and authorities urged public tips via 911 or the 089 line due to health and environmental risks.
  • In a related briefing, the security cabinet said six concentration areas in Culiacán and Cosalá were inhabilitated under Operación Frontera Norte and detailed a nationwide weekend haul of roughly 8,278,065,000 pesos, including the largest seizure in Culiacán with 260,780 liters and 101,119 kilos of precursors and equipment.
