Overview
- In seasonally adjusted terms, the value of production of construction firms rose 0.9% month on month in June, according to INEGI’s ENEC.
- Building works (edificación) increased 2.9% on the month after a 1.4% drop in May, while transport and urbanization projects gained 0.6% after a 0.6% decline; these segments account for 51.2% and 20.7% of activity, respectively.
- Despite the monthly rise, output fell 18.2% compared with a year earlier.
- Construction employment slipped 0.5% from May, with non‑dependent personnel down 4.4%.
- For the first half of 2025, sector output contracted 17.2%, including a 43.2% plunge in public works and a slowdown in private construction to 1.7% growth.
