Mexico Connects Guardia Nacional Systems to Central Intelligence Platform

The signed agreement gives the Guardia Nacional authorized access to the CNI’s Plataforma Central de Inteligencia to help identify criminal networks and support investigations and operations.

Overview

  • The interinstitutional convenio, signed Tuesday at Campo Militar Estratégico Conjunto No. 1J, authorizes technical interconnection and real‑time consultation between Guardia Nacional systems and the Centro Nacional de Inteligencia’s Plataforma Central de Inteligencia.
  • The agreement creates a CNI–GN coordinating group that will meet quarterly, requires system homologation and certification, and commits each side to provide training and technical support for personnel.
  • The convenio spells out legal and information‑security rules including confidentiality obligations, cybersecurity measures, data‑protection requirements and adherence to the 2025 Law of the National System of Investigation and Intelligence.
  • Officials at the ceremony — including leaders from SEDENA, SSPC, the Guardia Nacional and the CNI — presented the linkage as a tool to relate CNI analysis with field reporting to produce usable intelligence for investigations and operations, while noting operational results are still to be produced.
  • The Plataforma Central de Inteligencia was created under the 2025 law to integrate and analyze data in real time so the new connection could change how cases are detected and built, but its impact will depend on the speed of technical integration, effective coordination and strict compliance with legal safeguards.
