Overview
- President Claudia Sheinbaum and Governor Delfina Gómez handed over the final four units in Texcoco to Chalco, Chimalhuacán, Tlalnepantla and Valle de Chalco, completing the 10-train transfer.
- All trains are assigned to these municipalities: Chalco, Chicoloapan, Chimalhuacán, Ecatepec, Ixtapaluca, La Paz, Nezahualcóyotl, Texcoco, Tlalnepantla and Valle de Chalco.
- SICT reports a 450 million peso acquisition cost, alongside 102 million pesos for 2024 operations and a projected 600 million pesos for 2025–2027 to sustain the works.
- Each train consists of five specialized German-origin machines and is estimated to repave about one kilometer per day, with more than 340 kilometers targeted starting in 2026.
- About 150 public servants have been trained to operate the equipment, with initial deployments already underway since November in several municipalities.
