Mexico City Warns of Daylong Traffic Disruptions From 11 Blockades and a March Today

Authorities urge route planning, public transport use, real-time monitoring via C5 and SSC.

Overview

  • Mobilizations across Cuauhtémoc, Coyoacán, Gustavo A. Madero, Milpa Alta and Benito Juárez by student, police, labor and community groups are causing intermittent closures on major routes.
  • Demonstrations began at 6:30 a.m. local time with early blockades on Calzada San Antonio Abad and junctions in the Centro Histórico.
  • C5 and SSC list key impact points including Calzada de Tlalpan, Avenida de los 100 Metros, Calzada San Antonio Abad, República de Brasil, Circuito Escolar and the Zócalo.
  • A student march is scheduled from Jardines del Pedregal toward UNAM’s Circuito Escolar with the route still pending.
  • Hoy No Circula is in effect from 5:00 to 22:00 for red stickers, plates ending in 3 or 4, and holograms 1 and 2, which may tighten road capacity.
