Overview
- Netflix and Mexico City’s Secretariat of Culture announced a free public screening of Juan Gabriel’s first Bellas Artes concert at the Zócalo on November 8 at 8 p.m.
- The plaza will be equipped with giant screens and surround sound to accommodate a large audience and recreate the concert experience.
- The screening will include never‑before‑seen footage connected to Netflix’s documentary Juan Gabriel: Debo, puedo y quiero, which premieres October 30.
- Unreleased photographs will be displayed at Metro Bellas Artes starting October 27, then at the Ángel de la Independencia and the Diana Cazadora from October 30.
- The 1990 Bellas Artes performance is noted for breaking barriers between popular and institutional culture, and Juan Gabriel later drew a record crowd at the Zócalo in 2000.
