Overview
- The city launched the “Juego limpio, Paso Limpio” push and began simultaneous work on four priority projects around the venue, targeting completion before the 2026 kickoff.
- CETRAM Huipulco, a 16,000 m² transfer hub, will be fully rehabilitated with repaving, new sidewalks, improved lighting, and a connection to the forthcoming Trolebús Line 14.
- The pedestrian bridge linking the transfer center, Tren Ligero and the stadium will add elevators, lighting, clear signage and universal access, alongside a refreshed 5,000 m² walkway zone.
- A new Huipulco market with 90 stalls and parking for 165 bicycles will rehouse street vendors removed from the bridge and connect to the Calzada de Tlalpan bikeway.
- The Circuito Azteca vehicular bridge will be reinforced and resurfaced with wider sidewalks and new lighting, as part of more than 30 World Cup–related projects that also include doubling the Tren Ligero fleet branded El Ajolote.
