Overview
- Mexico City’s STC will end Line 1 service at 22:00 on Sept. 27–28, Oct. 4–5 and 11–12 to verify the CBTC system on NM22 and NM16 trains, with last departures at 21:30 from Pantitlán and Chapultepec.
- RTP buses will provide substitute service between Pantitlán and Chapultepec from 22:00 to midnight on the affected dates to maintain connectivity during the early closures.
- Mayor Clara Brugada said full service to Observatorio will return in October, completing the multi‑year modernization of Line 1’s western segment.
- Ferrocarriles Suburbanos will adjust Tren Suburbano frequencies from Sept. 27 to Oct. 4 for AIFA connection works, running double consists and urging riders to plan ahead.
- Lima’s Line 1 concessionaire outlined a roughly US$2.7 billion plan for 31 new trains, platform screen doors and depot upgrades to reach two‑minute headways by 2030, proposing a fare of S/3 pending Proinversión and MTC approval with viability sought by December.
