Mexico City Sets Free 'Nutcracker' for Nov. 28 as Lima Norte Opens Ticket Sales for Live-Orchestra Run

Both efforts foreground outreach—free entry in Mexico City, live‑symphony production in a district outside Lima’s central cultural circuit.

Overview

  • Mexico City’s PILARES network will stage a free community performance on Friday, Nov. 28 at 11:30 a.m. on the Explanada del Palacio de Bellas Artes with more than 500 child performers.
  • The event in CDMX will feature live accompaniment by Orquesta Opus 88 and an adaptation that blends classical, folkloric, contemporary, Arab, African and urban dance styles.
  • Inside Ballet announced a full production for Lima Norte on Dec. 13–14 at Teatro Plaza Norte under artistic director and choreographer Leo Casterán and musical director Eduardo Choque.
  • The Peru staging will field more than 80 artists on stage, with 14‑year‑old dancers Andrea Rondón and Bryana Melgarejo sharing the role of Clara.
  • Tickets for the Lima Norte performances are on sale via Teleticket, WhatsApp and Instagram, priced from S/59 to S/179, and organizers describe it as Peru’s only 2025 live‑orchestra Nutcracker.
