- Lawmakers created the VEMEPE category for electric personal vehicles that exceed 25 km/h with independent throttles and motors between 250 watts and 1 kW.
- Users must obtain a dedicated license by class (A for under 35 kg, B for 35–350 kg), register with Semovi, and carry plates, a circulation card, a certified helmet and a reflective vest.
