Overview
- UNAM’s mega ofrenda will be installed on the Universum museum esplanade and open to visitors October 31 and November 1–2, themed “Migraciones, exilios, refugio y desplazamientos.”
- The Centro Histórico’s Festival de Ofrendas y Catrinas runs October 28–November 3 with about 200 altars and a theme marking 700 years since the founding of Tenochtitlan, with a closing Catrina Fest on Republica de Chile and Republica de Ecuador.
- Museums across the city are mounting altars and activities, including the Museo de Arte Popular, Franz Mayer and Colegio de San Ildefonso, while Museo Anahuacalli hosts its “Cacao para todos” festival October 30–November 2.
- Museo Kaluz will hold the 2025 Pan de Muerto Festival October 18–19 with more than 10 bakeries, timed entry at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00, a 180‑peso fee per person and limited capacity at its terrace café.
- Traditional observances span October 28–November 2 with distinct dedications by day, and San Andrés Mixquic will again hold its November 2 alumbrada, lighting thousands of candles in the local cemetery.
