Specialized PBI and auxiliary officers are expanding store surveillance to disrupt increasingly sophisticated shoplifting networks.

  • All suspects were formally consigned to the Public Ministry, reflecting systematic judicial follow-up on retail-theft cases.
  • High-value incidents include a February handbag theft in Miguel Hidalgo worth over 25,000 pesos, April and May sports apparel cases in Coyoacán totaling more than 61,000 pesos, and a June department-store attempt exceeding 73,000 pesos in Benito Juárez.
  • On August 6, SSC auxiliary police in Cuajimalpa apprehended a couple trying to steal 4,326 pesos of clothing in Santa Fe and separately detained a Venezuelan national for shoplifting Pumas jerseys in Azcapotzalco.
  • The SSC’s coordinated deployment of PBI and auxiliary units underscores its broader strategy to safeguard commercial assets across Mexico City’s metropolitan area.
