Overview
- Officers were flagged down at Aluminio and Sorpresa in colonia Felipe Ángeles by a 37-year-old merchant who reported that three men had taken more than 56,000 pesos to let him keep operating his business.
- Using a ‘cerco virtual’ tactic, police located the suspects and recovered a red backpack containing 56,910 pesos in cash along with three mobile phones.
- The men were identified in reports as Josué “N”, Johan “N” and Milton “N”, ages 24, 25 and 28, after the victim recognized them.
- SSC officials say the detainees are allegedly linked to the La Unión Tepito criminal group, though their affiliation and legal responsibility remain under investigation.
- The three were informed of their rights and presented to the Ministerio Público, which opened an investigation file to determine their legal status in line with recent federal anti-extortion initiatives.
