Mexico City Police Arrest Alleged La Unión Tepito Cell Leader in Coordinated Raids

The interagency raids followed intelligence work targeting suspected drug-sale points in central Mexico City.

  • Five people were detained during two court-ordered searches in the Venustiano Carranza and Cuauhtémoc boroughs.
  • Police say Manuela Eunice “La Mane,” 34, led a La Unión Tepito faction active in the city’s center and north.
  • The first raid at Calle Sur 105 in Aeronáutica Militar yielded two firearms, 600 doses of cocaine, 103 marijuana doses, roughly two kilograms of marijuana and a caged spider monkey.
  • A second operation on Calzada de La Viga in La Esperanza resulted in two arrests with 200 cocaine doses, 25 marijuana doses and three marijuana cigarettes seized.
  • The detainees and evidence were placed in Ministerio Público custody for processing, the properties were sealed and the case proceeds with support from the SSC, the capital prosecutor’s office, the Navy and the National Guard.
