Overview

• The additions bring the network to 11 purification plants in operation with a weekly output target of 72,000 garrafones serving 400 colonias.
• Production runs Monday through Saturday with distribution supported by 20 delivery units, each capable of carrying up to 600 garrafones per day.
• New facilities include Tanque Cerro (Iztapalapa), Xaltepec and San Luis 5 (Xochimilco), Miguel Alemán (Miguel Hidalgo), Ciudad Deportiva 1 (Venustiano Carranza) and Xotepingo 6 C (Coyoacán).
• Agua Bienestar garrafones are priced at 5 pesos per 20 liters as a publicly provided alternative to market rates.
• City leaders plan two additional plants by December to reach 13 sites with a projected 120,000 garrafones per week and coverage of about 700 colonias.
