The certified 42.195 km course starts at Estadio Olímpico Universitario on Insurgentes and finishes in the Zócalo after passing Reforma, Chapultepec and Polanco. Race-day starts are staggered: 5:55 a.m. for wheelchairs and visually impaired, 6:00 a.m. elite women, 6:05 a.m. elite men with Block A, then 6:15 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. for subsequent blocks. Metro Lines 1, 2, 3 and 9 will open at 5:00 a.m. with free access for runners who show their bib, with the rest of the network starting at 7:00 a.m. Six free electric-bus routes for competitors begin around 3:30 a.m. from points including Indios Verdes, Revolución–Río Becerra, San Jerónimo and Palacio de los Deportes to the start area.
