Mexico City Judiciary Robes 137 Elected Judges and Magistrates as Assignments Await Administrative Setup

Court posts remain unassigned pending installation of a new administrative body required under recent reforms.

Overview

  • TSJCDMX held a solemn session to confer robes on 137 judicial officers elected on June 1, including 5 members of the Tribunal de Disciplina Judicial, 34 magistrates, and 98 judges.
  • No new judge or magistrate has been designated as a court or chamber titular because the Pleno has not met to make adscripciones while the Órgano de Administración Judicial is being set up.
  • Under the recently reformed organic law, the local Consejo de la Judicatura has 15 days to carry out the adscripciones.
  • The disciplinary tribunal was formally constituted, will investigate and sanction judges in the capital, and will be presided over by Nicolás Jerónimo Alejo.
  • TSJ president Rafael Guerra urged service to justice and promised guidance for the incoming cohort at a ceremony attended by Jefa de Gobierno Clara Brugada and other officials.
