Mexico City Judge Binds Alleged Tren de Aragua Leader and Aide to Prosecution, Orders Preventive Detention

Prosecutors say an interagency raid produced key evidence supporting formal charges.

  • The pair were detained on October 4 in Barrio Zapotla, Iztacalco, after officers encountered them selling suspected illicit substances during a joint federal–city operation.
  • Following the arrests, prosecutors executed search warrants in Iztapalapa and Iztacalco, seizing more than 120 doses of suspected narcotics and seven cellphones.
  • The court set a deadline for the complementary investigation reported as up to two months, with some outlets citing one month for the additional case, and other detainees from the operation remain under review.
