Mexico City Issues Saturday Mobilization Alerts as Skaters’ March Set for Noon

Officials direct commuters to SSC and C5 channels for live detours.

Overview

  • The SSC schedule for October 4 lists a skaters’ march in Cuauhtémoc starting at 12:00 from the Monument to the Revolution with a possible route to the Bellas Artes Metro station.
  • Additional October 4 gatherings include 40 Días por la Vida at Marie Stopes in Tlalpan, La Comuna 4:20 at the Mexico City Congress, cannabis and feminist collectives at Reforma’s Amajac roundabout, an Otomí community concentration, and We R Women On Fire in Miguel Hidalgo.
  • Authorities urge drivers and pedestrians to monitor SSC, C5, and the Centro de Orientación Vial for route changes and any unprogrammed actions that may affect traffic.
  • On October 3 the C5 counted at least 14 disruptions from 08:00, with blockages reported on Reforma and Insurgentes, Periférico Sur, Miguel Ángel de Quevedo, Circuito Escolar, and other corridors.
  • Friday’s program also factored in high-attendance events such as The Skatalites, Los Caligaris, Edith Márquez, and Monster Jam, which the SSC tracks because they contribute to congestion.
