Mexico City Enforces Saturday ‘Hoy No Circula’ With Hologram 2 and Odd-Plate 1 Off Roads 5 a.m.–10 p.m.

Officials say the program remains unchanged as they review potential tightening, so drivers must follow the established restrictions and exemptions in place today.

Overview

  • Restrictions apply across Mexico City and 18 conurbated State of Mexico municipalities within the Valley of Mexico metropolitan area.
  • Vehicles barred this Saturday are all with verification hologram 2 and those with hologram 1 whose plates end in 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9.
  • Vehicles that may circulate include those with hologram 00 or 0, electric or hybrid models, passenger transport, and hologram 1 with even-numbered plates.
  • The schedule runs from 5:00 to 22:00, and violations can result in fines of 20–30 UMAs (about 2,074.80–3,112.20 pesos) and possible vehicle impoundment.
  • Out-of-state Mexican vehicles with valid homologated verification follow the same criteria, while foreign-plated vehicles do not circulate on any Saturday from 5:00 to 22:00.
