Mexico City Bans Reforma Romerías as Guadalupe–Reyes Operation Begins

Merchants will be temporarily relocated to the Zócalo after the Dec. 6 presidential event.

  • Officials confirmed no seasonal stalls on Paseo de la Reforma to preserve pedestrian and traffic order during Guadalupe pilgrimages.
  • The Guadalupe–Reyes deployment starts Dec. 5 with coordinated actions by Security, Civil Protection, Health, Locatel, the Prosecutor’s Office, AGATAN and the Gustavo A. Madero mayor’s office.
  • Authorities expect the highest pilgrim influx Dec. 10–12, with reinforced security, mobility and assistance along routes to the Basilica of Guadalupe.
  • Indigenous artisan groups are in talks with the government, with a temporary Zócalo installation planned from late Dec. 6 through Dec. 15.
