Overview

  • SGIRPC has maintained a yellow alert citywide and upgraded to orange in Álvaro Obregón, Cuajimalpa, Magdalena Contreras and Tlalpan as forecasts call for 15–29 mm of rain and possible hail through tonight.
  • The Metro system is enforcing its marcha segura protocol on Lines 5, 8, 9, 12 and B to reduce train speeds and prevent accidents on wet tracks.
  • The SSC is monitoring water accumulation and debris on major avenues like Insurgentes and Paseo de la Reforma, urging drivers to use lights, avoid sudden braking and steer clear of flooded underpasses.
  • SMN has sustained yellow and orange alerts in Neuquén, Río Negro and Chubut for 40–60 mm of rain and 10–20 cm of snow, and the Paso Internacional Cristo Redentor remains closed.
  • Bariloche ski areas received 10–15 cm of new snow in 24 hours and expect further accumulation into early August as neutral ENSO conditions drive irregular winter patterns.
