Mexico City Airport Closes Terminal 1 Doors 1–2 for Remodel, Redirects Access to 3–10

The works are part of a SEMAR-led modernization program aimed at improving safety and service without affecting flight operations.

Overview

  • Terminal 1’s public ambulatorio area is under renovation, prompting the closure of access doors 1 and 2 until further notice.
  • Passengers must enter Terminal 1 through doors 3 to 10, and the airport advises arriving with extra time to navigate the adjusted access.
  • The upgrade replaces floors, ceilings, lighting, furniture, and paint, and renews electrical and hydrosanitary systems to enhance the passenger experience.
  • AICM states that takeoffs, landings, and core services continue to operate normally during the interior works.
  • The project forms part of an integral AICM remodeling managed by the Navy’s Grupo Aeroportuario Marina, with additional works already underway in Terminal 1’s Module V.
