Mexico Cites 9,350 Arrests Under Border Operation as Raids Sweep Seven States

Officials frame the coordinated push as a bid to cripple synthetic drug supply chains.

  • Since February 5, Operación Frontera Norte has tallied 9,350 detentions and 110,890 kg of drug seizures, including 535.04 kg of fentanyl, according to the Security Cabinet.
  • On November 24 in Sinaloa, forces disabled 11 precursor concentration areas in Culiacán and Badiraguato, seizing 12,725 liters and 810 kg of chemicals with an estimated 276 million peso impact on criminal groups.
  • Simultaneous actions produced arrests and seizures in Tijuana, Saltillo, Allende, General Bravo, Concordia, Cajeme and Caborca, including a 400‑liter liquid methamphetamine haul in Sonora.
  • Sonora reported a separate November 17–23 sweep that removed 23,691,547 drug doses and led to 155 arrests, along with 39 long guns, 4,947 cartridges, 64 vehicles, 25 searches and 111 arrest warrants.
  • In Michoacán under Plan Michoacán/Operación Paricutín, authorities report 118–122 detainees for November 10–24 plus explosives, weapons and 9,200 liters and 2,300 kg of precursors, with four new arrests and improvised explosive devices secured on November 24; detainees and seized items were turned over to prosecutors.
