Overview
- The Conference of State and Federal Attorneys General approved the updated Protocolo Homologado for investigating disappearances on August 15, 2026, during the LIV plenary in Nayarit.
- The updated protocol, developed with technical support from the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and UNFPA, sets common procedures for forced disappearances and disappearances by private actors to improve investigation quality and victim access to truth and justice.
