Mexico Approves National Firearms Crime Registry as First Piece of Interoperable Justice System

  • The National Conference of Prosecutors formally approved nationwide implementation of the Criminal Firearms Registry to enhance weapon tracing and support case building.

  • Members pledged continuous information ingestion and exchange with the Criminal Investigation Agency through the Federal Criminal Intelligence Center to aid investigations.
  • Delegates agreed to apply an updated methodology for recording intentional homicides and to consolidate statistics for SENAP with technical support from the FGR and INEGI.
