Mexico Activates DN-III-E in Veracruz, 3,300 Food Kits Moving to 14 Communities

A 130-person contingent is coordinating with Veracruz authorities to reach isolated areas using air, road and river routes.

Overview

  • Sedena confirmed the DN-III-E relief plan remains in its auxilio phase for Texistepec and Jesús Carranza following heavy rains from Onda Tropical No. 34.
  • Army, Air Force and National Guard personnel have been deployed since September 22 to conduct land, river and aerial reconnaissance and public alerting.
  • Relief logistics include a Guardia Nacional helicopter, 19 vehicles and a fast boat to deliver aid to communities with difficult access.
  • A total of 3,300-plus food packages were staged after 1,500 were moved from the Santa Lucía military supply center and 1,800 were added by the Veracruz government.
  • Teams are monitoring the Chiquito, Coatzacoalcos and Jaltepec rivers while executing deliveries from the 45th Infantry Battalion base in Minatitlán.
