Mexican Security Forces Arrest 10 in Sinaloa Cartel Crackdown

Coordinated navy operations targeted weapons caches to disrupt meth networks in rival Los Chapitos, Los Mayos cells

  • Security forces arrested 10 alleged members of the Sinaloa Cartel’s Los Chapitos and Los Mayos factions, including José “El 60,” during simultaneous raids in Culiacán and Navolato.
  • A firefight in Monte Verde de Villa and Alcoyonqui left two suspected Los Mayos operatives dead and led to the seizure of tactical gear and vehicles.
  • Authorities dismantled three methamphetamine precursor sites in El Tecomate and San Lorenzo de Culiacán, confiscating 3,200 liters of chemicals and 1,650 kilograms of caustic soda.
  • In Culiacán operations, officials seized four long guns, nine magazines, 428 cartridges, two vehicles and a stolen motorcycle.
  • The raids were executed jointly by the navy, army, national guard, federal prosecutors and the SSPC to fracture cartel logistics and revenue streams.
