Mexican national team dispatches Honduras in Gold Cup opener

Mexico defeated Honduras 4-0 in their first match of the Gold Cup under interim coach Jaime Lozano.
Luis Romo scored Mexico's quickest ever Gold Cup goal after just 50 seconds and went on to score two goals in the match.
Orbelín Pineda and Luis Chávez also scored for Mexico.
The resounding win comes after Mexico finished third in the CONCACAF Nations League, leading to the firing of coach Diego Cocca and national team director Rodrigo Ares de Parga.
Mexico now leads Group B and will face Haiti next while Honduras takes on Qatar.
