Metten Recalls Specific Batch of 'Dicke Sauerländer' Bockwurst From Lidl and Netto

A preservation fault could make the canned sausages spoil before the stated date.

Overview

  • Only the 5×80 g cans with batch L-2798183 and best-before date 05.09.2026 are affected, with production times printed as 21:00 to 21:50 on the can bottom.
  • The lot was sold in selected Lidl and Netto stores in North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse, and at the manufacturer’s factory outlet in Finnentrop.
  • Metten and the retailers have withdrawn the items from sale and advise customers not to consume the product.
  • Shoppers can return affected cans to the named stores for a full refund without presenting a receipt, and the manufacturer offers customer service support.
  • Other batches of the product and other Metten items are not included in the recall, according to the notices published via product-warning channels.
