Overview

  • Lindor fractured his right pinky toe when hit by a Tony Gonsolin slider during the first inning of Wednesday’s 6-1 win over the Dodgers.
  • He completed all nine innings despite obvious discomfort, then underwent X-rays that confirmed the fracture.
  • Manager Carlos Mendoza labeled Lindor day-to-day and said an injured list placement is not immediately planned.
  • Luisangel Acuna took over at shortstop on Thursday and prospect Ronny Mauricio is also available to fill the role.
  • Lindor expects the toe to require about six weeks to heal fully but intends to play through the pain and will be reevaluated daily.
