Francisco Lindor, the New York Mets shortstop, has fulfilled his promise to teammate Jeff McNeil by buying him a blue Ford Bronco.
The promise was made in May 2022, with Lindor stating he would buy McNeil a car if he won the batting title.
McNeil won the National League batting title in 2022 with a .326 average, the highest in MLB among all eligible players.
Lindor, who is on a 10-year, $341 million contract with the Mets, made $34 million this season alone.
The Mets are also making moves to fill new manager Carlos Mendoza’s coaching staff, with Phil Nevin among the possibilities for the Mets’ bench coach opening.
