Mets Claim Heineman and Hummel off Waivers, Sign Crick

- Mets claim catcher Tyler Heineman off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays and outfielder/catcher Cooper Hummel from the Seattle Mariners.
- Heineman, 32, hit .237 with three RBIs in 22 games for Pittsburgh and Toronto this season.
- Hummel, 29, was 2 for 23 this season for Seattle, which acquired him from Arizona last year.
- The Mets also signed reliever Kyle Crick to a minor league deal with an invite to spring training.
- The Mets’ 40-man roster now includes four catchers with Francisco Alvarez, Omar Narvaez, Heineman and Hummel.
