Overview

  • The Mets signed 29-year-old Dicky Lovelady to a Major League contract and will activate him for Tuesday’s series opener against the Atlanta Braves at Citi Field.
  • Lovelady posted a 1.31 ERA over 19 appearances at Triple-A St. Paul after opting out of his contract with the Minnesota Twins organization.
  • Outfielder Travis Jankowski was selected to the Major League roster to join Lovelady for the series opener.
  • Infielder Luisangel Acuña, who slashed .241/.293/.283 with 11 steals in 12 tries, and right-hander Tyler Zuber were optioned to Triple-A Syracuse.
  • Outfielder Jose Siri was transferred to the 60-day injured list following an April tibia fracture to clear a spot on the 40-man roster.
