Mets Activate RHP Gott, Call Up OF Stewart Day After Trade

The New York Mets activated reliever Trevor Gott and called up outfielder DJ Stewart for their game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
In corresponding moves, Jeff Brigham and Danny Mendick were optioned to Triple-A Syracuse.
Denyi Reyes was designated for assignment to make room for Gott on the 40-man roster.
Gott was acquired in a trade with the Seattle Mariners.
Stewart previously played for the Baltimore Orioles and has a career batting average of .213 with 26 home runs and 73 RBIs.
