Mets Activate Jose Siri, Launch Matchup Platoon in Center Field

Overview

  • Less than five months after fracturing his left tibia, Jose Siri was reinstated from the 60-day injured list and started in center against Phillies left-hander Ranger Suárez.

  • The return comes as New York holds the final NL wild-card lead, center-field offense has lagged, Mullins is hitting .174/.284/.272 since the trade, and Tyrone Taylor remains on the IL.
