Overview

  • Conseller Vicente Martínez Mus announced the Sept. 1 restart during a site visit with regional infrastructure officials and FGV management.
  • The Aragón–Marítim stretch spans more than 2.5 kilometers across four stations—Aragón, Amistat, Ayora and Marítim—on Lines 5 and 7.
  • FGV executed a €3.6 million tunnel renewal since June 27 to repair damaged lateral walls and meet Law 7/2018 safety standards at the rail safety agency’s request.
  • Service on the affected metro sections was suspended from June 27 to Aug. 31, with Aragón open, Marítim linked by tram on Lines 6 and 8, and recommended tram alternatives via Benimaclet and Empalme.
  • A separate A‑7 motorway project by the national transport ministry closed the Masies–Bétera segment on Line 1, covered by replacement buses between Bétera, Horta Vella and Masies, with trains resuming on Sept. 1 to restore over half a million monthly journeys.
