Meteorite Captured on Doorbell Camera Strikes Canadian Walkway

A rare video recorded the moment a meteorite hit a Prince Edward Island home’s front path, narrowly missing the homeowner by minutes.

The incident was captured on the home's Ring doorbell camera, marking one of the first known instances of a meteorite fall recorded with both video and sound.
The meteorite, officially named 'Charlottetown,' was confirmed as an ordinary chondrite after analysis by the University of Alberta and added to the Meteoritical Society's database.
Approximately 95 grams of debris were collected from the site, with the impact leaving a star-shaped dust pattern and a divot in the brick walkway.
The footage and meteorite sample are being studied for insights into the object's speed, trajectory, and physical properties, offering valuable data for scientific research.
